He hoped that Tehran-Tbilisi relations will be further improved during Zalkaniani’s tenure and with the firm will of the two capitals, as well as the efforts made by Iranian and Georgian foreign ministries, IRNA wrote.
Zalkaniani won the vote of confidence from Georgian Parliament and was reinstated as the Georgian Foreign Minister following the victory of Georgian Dream political party in the parliamentary elections of 2020.
Iran and Georgia have close political and economic ties and there are hundreds of companies registered by Iranians in Georgia.
